SALT LAKE CITY -- Post offices in Utah will be open New Year's Eve but some will close at noon.
The U.S. Postal Service said Tuesday that mail will be delivered as usual on Thursday but items for delivery must be dropped off in blue collection mailboxes before noon for the day's pickup.
Post offices will be closed Friday for the New Year's Day holiday. Regular postal service resumes Saturday.
