SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah regulators have approved a rate hike for Rocky Mountain Power customers.
The Public Service Commission on Thursday approved the utility's request to charge 2.2 percent more.
Commission officials say that means a typical residential customer will pay about $1.30 more each month and will provide an additional $32.4 million per year for the company.
The company initially sought an increase of $67 million.
In seeking the increase, the company cited increased investments in electrical generation and transmission equipment to meet growing demands.
