LAYTON -- Businesses looking for more customers might do well to attend the Business to Business Expo from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Davis Conference Center.
Davis Chamber of Commerce President Jim Smith said the expo will have the booths of more than 80 local companies and will be attended by hundreds of business owners and leaders, making it an excellent place to network with an eye on increasing local business.
"What we provide is an opportunity for Davis County businesses to discuss and do business with other Davis County businesses," Smith said. "We've found these face-to-face meetings are very effective at matching products and services, which lets us keep more of our business in Davis County."
"Davis County continues to be a solid generator of business in the state of Utah," Smith said. "From Hill Air Force Base in the north to the strength of Bountiful and neighboring cities in our south, Davis County is one of Utah's brightest growth areas."
One change being made this year in the annual event is the addition of a keynote speaker. Greg Miller, CEO of the Larry H. Miller Group of Companies, will open the expo with a seminar at 2 p.m. on "Business Basics." Miller is responsible for overall corporate strategy for a family-owned business empire that employs nearly 8,000 people in 11 Western states and generates annual revenues in excess of $3 billion.
"Having Greg as our first keynote speaker is a great coup for the expo," Smith said.
The Miller Group of Companies also will have a booth to display products and services.
"We've always had a very good turnout at the expo, but this year we are trying to make it more fun to attend," Smith said. "A lot of the booths will have food or products to give away, so we're billing it as a fun and food event."
The Davis Conference Center is at 1651 N. 700 West, Layton. For more information about the B2B Expo, go to http://www.b2bexpo.net/.
