Zions Bank has announced the opening of two new branches in Kaysville and Syracuse.
Both locations are under lease and were former Barnes Bank branches. In the case of the Kaysville branch's staff, eight of its 11-member team were former Barnes employees. To date, Zions has hired 41 former Barnes Bank employees since it assisted the FDIC in the deposit resolution of the bank.
Grand opening celebrations will be held at the branches next week.
On Wednesday, June 2, at 11:30 a.m. a ribbon cutting will take place at the Syracuse office, located at 975 W. 1700 South. During the event, Zions Bank will make donations to the Sunshine Playground and AYSO VIP Soccer league. Participating in the ribbon cutting will be Mayor Jamie Nagel, City Administrator Rodger Worthen, Davis Chamber of Commerce Lakesiders and Syracuse city council members. "We've always been committed to serving the needs of families and businesses in Davis County, and now we're thrilled to expand our presence in these two wonderful cities. Our business in the north part of the county has been growing rapidly, and the new branches will allow us to continue to bring existing and new clients the security of banking with an institution that has been safe and sound for more than 135 years," said Sherm Losee, Zions Bank's Northern Utah regional president.
Zions Bank is Utah's oldest financial institution and is the only local bank with a statewide distribution of branches, operating 105 full-service branches throughout Utah. Zions Bank also operates 26 full-service branches in Idaho.
