Circus at Lagoon: New twist at Davis County's only amusement park this summer

FARMINGTON -- A taste of Las Vegas is coming to Lagoon this summer in the form of two speciality acts that will be included in the amusement park's regular-priced all-day passport.

The Extreme Parrot Show of Las Vegas, and Cirque Innosta presents L'Orage, with performers from Orlando, Fla., and Las Vegas, will be part of Lagoon's summer attractions this year, according to J.D. Dumas, operations/production manager for Lagoon entertainment.

"We just felt we needed more options in the park," he said.

The cirque show, which includes acrobats, contortionists and aerialists, will be presented at 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. in the Davis Pavillion from July 5 to July 25, Dumas said.

Extreme Parrot Show begins July 26 and runs through Aug. 22. The parrot show will be held in the grassy area next to the Jumping Dragon ride, Dumas said, the same area where the park last summer held a monkey show, he said.

Show times for the parrot show will be 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Dumas said the park also features two musical productions throughout the summer in Broadway Corner and The Great American Jukebox, to be held in the park's Carousel Theater.

The Broadway Corner, a tribute to Broadway musicals is off Monday, while The Great American Jukebox, a salute to some of the country's most famous rock n' roll, pop and country hits, is off Tuesday.

"We got lots, lots going on," Dumas said.

The Lagoon amusement park in Farmington is open daily through Aug. 22. Regular single all-day passport prices are $42.95, excluding discount offers, and $37.95 for seniors and kinders, those 4 years of age up to 50 inches tall.
