Big 5 Sporting Goods marks 55th anniversary

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Big 5 Sporting Goods Corporation, a leading sporting goods retailer, today announced the celebration of its 55th year in business. The five-week event will begin on September 12, 2010, when the Company launches its social media sites on Facebook and Twitter. During this anniversary celebration, Big 5 will offer its customers a selection of exceptional weekly sales promotions. The event will also include a special Trivia Contest, and successful contestants will be eligible to win valuable prizes.

Steven G. Miller, the Company's President and Chief Executive Officer, stated, "We are very excited about celebrating 55 years of providing our customers with exceptional value on top quality merchandise, while delivering the superior level of service they expect and deserve."
