SALT LAKE CITY -- Thirty University of Utah students are poised to recoup their tuition costs because computer games they created in class will be sold on Xbox.
Officials say students developed three video games as part of their senior Entertainment Arts and Engineering class, and all have been accepted for sale on Xbox Live Indie Games.
Online downloads are $1 each and 70 percent of the money goes directly back to the students who created the game.
The school says one game called "Minions!" already has surpassed $10,000 in sales. "Mr. Gravity" has sold over 600 downloads and "The Last Podfighter" has sold more than 130 copies.
Course instructors say students pitched original ideas to the class. Those were narrowed to 12 by a class vote and the final three selected by professors.
