Utah environmental advisor joining ski resort

SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah Gov. Gary Herbert's senior environmental advisor is leaving for a job with a ski resort company.

Ted Wilson will join Talisker Corporation as the company's director of government relations within the next few weeks.

Wilson has worked for Herbert since 2009 on environmental issues, including land use, air quality and energy policy. He will continue to serve as an appointed member on two of Herbert's advisory committees that deal with resource management and energy development.

Wilson says in a statement the Talisker job allows him to continue working on land use issues while promoting Utah as a vacation destination.

The Toronto, Canada-based Talisker owns The Canyons Ski Resort near Park City, a golf course and residential developments.
