1. Name some of the qualifications you possess that makes you the best choice to represent your city?
As a young man I helped install the first street signs in Uintah. I loved the way of life here and chose to raise my family here. I am involved in the community. I served as Chairmen of the Board of Adjustments for over 25 years and a short time on the City Council. Living in Uintah the majority of my life has helped me gain a perspective someone who has lived here only a few years could not have acquired.
2. What political ideals and philosophies guide your decision-making process?
All government entities, including City government, should be mindful that they serve the people. I recently lived for two years in a country in which the government and its officials make decisions and pass laws that control and take away the dignity of the individual. This experience strengthened my conviction that in every decision that is made, the individual freedom of choice must be a consideration. I believe in my friends and neighbors.
3. What is the most important issue facing your city?
Due to a season of challenging economic times for the city and the residents, it is important to look at economic ways to continue to preserve and improve Uintah.
4. Name some qualities that you possess that make you a good team worker and able to bring consensus among city leaders.
I have a great respect for each individual and value his or her opinions. I don't have a hidden agenda . I have experience leading as well as working as a team member in professional, religious, and community settings. Before making a decision , I like to consider the pertinent information. With this preparation I can work with others to make decisions that are most beneficial to the entire community.
5. What do you think will be some major issues your city will face a generation from now? SClBThe State and Federal Government have in recent years imposed many guidelines and rules that have changed the way cities do business. Mandates relating to taxing and use of taxes, budgets, drinking water, storm water, roads, and almost every facet of city government have caused the changes. As Uintah grows the city fathers will be faced with finding ways to provide essential services for new and existing population, meeting the new standards while preserving the peculiarities of the city that brought us
