HUNTSVILLE — A Meet the Candidates Night for Republican 1st Congressional District candidates will be held tonight the Ogden Valley Library, 131 S. 7400 East.
The candidates are incumbent Rob Bishop and challengers Leonard Fabiano and Jacqueline Smith.
Doors open at 7 p.m., and the event begins at 7:30. The Weber County 9/12 Project is hosting the event.
SALT LAKE CITY -- Republican delegates who will decide the fate of U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch will have two opportunities to hear the incumbent senator face-off against his main challengers.
OGDEN — Weber County’s first filers in the 2012 election were mostly incumbents, including several legislators who made it down despite being up late Thursday night for the Legislature’s final day in session.
Friday was the first day to file for elective office in Utah, ranging from the U.S. Congress to local school boards and county commission seats.

SYRACUSE -- Former Councilman Alan Clark, a former mayor of an adjacent city, and a man who lost by just one vote in his bid to win a council seat in November, headline a field of 14 candidates who have filed for an open seat on the city council.
TREMONTON -- Bryan Farnsworth, a declared candidate in Utah's 1st Congressional District, was kept out of the Republican Lincoln Day Dinner after his speech on Saturday night.
