N. Ogden man falls in Willard Canyon

WILLARD — A 24-year-old North Ogden man was helped down a canyon Monday evening after he fell and injured himself.

The man, who was not identified, called for help around 7:30 p.m., said Box Elder County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Kevin Potter.

Children rescued from icy river return home

Utah snowpack below normal, resorts cross fingers

SALT LAKE CITY — A year ago, snow was falling in Utah at about twice the average rate and resorts were packed with crowds of tourists reveling in the white stuff.

Now the state’s snowpack is at about 50 percent of average, and one resort without snowmaking capability hasn’t even opened for the season.

Proposed gondola would connect Canyons, Solitude ski resorts

PARK CITY -  Utah’s congressional delegation introduced legislation Thursday to sell a corridor of national forest land for a gondola that would connect a Park City ski resort with another nearby resort.
