HUD grant gives Davis County organizations a hand up

LAYTON -- Davis County is receiving $673,483 from the Department of Housing and Urban Development to support community development and produce more affordable housing.

The money has already been allocated by the Davis County Commission, with nine organizations receiving a portion of it.

OGDEN -- The Weber Housing Authority has received a $50,000 Community Development Block Grant to provide low-interest loans to home owners for emergency home repairs.

Clearfield officials change housing program to help more families

CLEARFIELD -- Officials made changes to funding programs that will allocate more money to a planned infrastructure project and give qualified residents a monetary boost to help them buy homes.

Every year, the city receives funds from the community development block grant, a federal program meant to help low to moderate income families. The city had already approved its plans for the $209,829 it received this year.

Clearfield designates its CDBG funds

The city is dedicating the largest chunk of its almost $210,000 in community development block grant funds for an infrastructure project on 100 North.

A copy of the 2011 to 2012 plan was available to residents from March 23 to April 21 but it drew no comments. The city council recently approved a one-year action plan for how grant funds funds will be spent.
