OGDEN -- An Ogden man has been arrested after police say they found nearly 100 images of child pornography on his computer.
Logan Rasmussen, 21, was booked Friday into Weber County Jail on suspicion of eight counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, all second-degree felonies.
Police Lt. Scott Conley said the department received information from state investigators about a home in the 300 North block of Wall Avenue that possibly had someone who was downloading child pornography.
"We researched the address to determine who resides there, then compiled the information and wrote a search warrant to go to seize the computer equipment in the household," Conley said.
"Upon that computer equipment being analyzed, 96 files were located that contained child porn."
After the search warrant was executed, Rasmussen was arrested, interviewed and ultimately booked into jail, Conley said.
Rasmussen admitted to downloading and viewing the files, Conley said, adding he was unsure of the time frame in which Rasmussen obtained the images.
The decision to book Rasmussen on eight counts most likely stemmed from the separate instances when he downloaded the images.
Conley said there is no indication Rasmussen was distributing child pornography.
"It was just all downloaded information from other sources."
