Kaysville to use impact fee plan to cover growth

KAYSVILLE — The city is updating its long-term plan to maintain current levels of service as the population continues to grow.

Kaysville purchases new transformers

KAYSVILLE -- The city council recently approved the purchase of several new transformers to update Kaysville City Power’s main power substation on 200 North.

The process will upgrade the voltage in the center part of town making it consistent with the rest of the system, providing more opportunities for back feed in case of an outage.

Bountiful grants full site plan approval

BOUNTIFUL -- City leaders have granted final site plan approval to a mixed use building at 2155 South Orchard Drive.

The building will be located in the partially completed Orchard Pines development and involves a three-story structure with commercial and office uses on the lower two levels and four flat-style residential units on the third floor.

Centerville approves annual road work

CENTERVILLE -- Annual work on roads was approved recently by the city council as the city awarded two contracts.

Morgan Pavement Maintenance received its bid for $301,717.50 for crack and slurry seals, while Kilgore Companies was awarded $210,233.83 for street rebuilds and overlays.

Most of the streets north of Parrish Lane will be crack sealed, according to a staff report. Meanwhile, the street rebuild and overlay bid includes two roads, Deerfield Drive and 400 West from Parrish Lane to 100 North. The Deerfield project also includes installing a storm drain.

Those four votes, which weren't counted, potentially could have made a difference, as Raymond Walsh lost by four votes in a bid to be one of the six candidates remaining in the race for three council seats. But ultimately, nothing changed in the race standings.
