Committee to look into e-billboards in Layton

LAYTON — Mayor Stephen Curtis said there is no need to wait to address the issue of electronic billboards in his community and said he will act quickly to form a committee of elected officials, local businesses and sign company representatives to address the matter.

Farr West nixes four-wheeler rodeo this year

FARR WEST - There will not be a four-wheeler rodeo at the Fourth of July celebration this year, according to Councilman Paul Dinsdale.

Dinsdale said the idea was scrapped due to insurance and liability concerns. He said the golf tournament will be part of the celebration and Remuda Golf Course has agreed to donate prizes if at least 80 people participate.

Dickemore named to chair committee in Farr West

FARR WEST - Councilman Lee Dickemore has been appointed chair of a committee that will review planning commission applicants. Dickemore said he would conduct the committee meetings, but would not vote on the planning commission applicants as part of the committee.

Farr West OKs next phase of subdivision

FARR WEST - Council members approved Phase 5 of Miya Meadows at approximately 2450 W 2700 N.

Developer Jeff Hales said construction of the sidewalks there still needs to be discussed, but it will be part of the walking route for students attending the new Wahlquist Junior High School.

Layton project given a 1-year extension

LAYTON - A subdivision project at approximately 2597 E. Gentile St. has been given a one-year extension, in waiting for final approval, for the third straight year.

Information on checks issued by Kaysville city to be posted online

KAYSVILLE - The city council recently decided to post the detailed claims lists that are approved at each city council meeting on the transparency section of their website.

The claims list, sometimes referred to as warrant registers, includes all checks issued by the city. They are reviewed and approved by the city council at each council meeting.

In an attempt to further increase the transparency of their functions, the council chose to make this information more readily available to citizens.
