FARR WEST -- The city council approved a tentative budget for fiscal year 2011-12.
City Treasurer John Cardon said there is a $6,000 increase in the general fund from a year ago.
Cardon said the general fund has remained very flat over the last four years. He also said $30,000 has been budgeted for a security camera system for the city hall parking lot and part of the recreation area.
Mayor Jimmie Papageorge said the city has a bid of $24,000 for the camera system.
Because of increased rates for the city from the Central Weber Sewer, Cardon said he recommends the city increase sewer fees for residents by $2 to $3 a month.
"In 2009, Central Weber Sewer doubled their rates," Cardon said.
He said the doubled rate has been paid by the city, with one increase to $18 per residential home.
Cardon said the city covered another increase with no increase in costs for residents and said the rate for the city will jump by another 25 percent in July.
