PLAIN CITY -- Councilman Brent White said bids are coming in for the expansion of the cemetery and they are much lower than the city engineer's estimate.
He said the bid award will be announced soon, and work on the project is expected to start in the next four to six weeks.
In other city business, a public hearing has been set for July 21 concerning ordinance changes, including changes to the fowl ordinance.
Planning Commissioner John Leonardi said residents will still be allowed to have chickens, but in smaller numbers and at certain distances from homes and streets.
He said the city is also looking at changes in ordinances concerning flooding and the way homes are built in the city.
