Teenage sexuality topic of class for parents

OGDEN -- The Weber-Morgan Health Department is offering for parents a free one-time class on teen sexuality. The class will be held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. April 26 at Mound Fort Junior High School, 1396 Liberty Ave.

Roy police to offer free public safety class

The Roy Police Department is planning to offer a free class to inform people about public safety and to dispel myths about law enforcement.

The class would teach people about different types of crime as well as about personal and home security. The class is also meant to dispel illusions and false expectations the public might have about what the police are capable of, thanks to TV shows like “CSI,” said Detective Adam Madsen.

Registration is open for a backyard chicken class to be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. March 22 at the Weber County Utah State University Extension office.

Registration is open for a backyard chicken class to be held from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. March 22 at the Weber County Utah State University Extension office.

Officials said the class was very popular last year as area residents were interested in raising chickens for their own use.

This year’s class will be taught jointly by David Frame, USU state extension poultry specialist and James Barnhill, a Weber and Morgan county extension agricultural agent.

OGDEN -- When Heritage Elementary School Principal Vincent Pascal Ardizzone brought in a veteran actor to teach improv classes and direct a play, he expected his students to benefit from exposure to the lively arts.

Davis County class to battle mental illness

The Davis County Affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is hosting a free “Progressions” class for young people between the ages of 15 and 21 who are dealing with a mental health issue.

The purpose is to empower young people with information and the tools to advance them toward their dreams and goals.
