Man accused of urging fellow gangster to shoot at Clearfield party

CLEARFIELD — Police have arrested a third person they say was involved in a shooting that injured five people at a party in Clearfield in March.

Dwayne Ace Brown, 25, of Ogden, was booked into Davis County Jail on Wednesday on suspicion of five counts of aggravated assault, one count of discharging a firearm in the direction of a person or building and one count of riot.

CLEARFIELD — Police have arrested a third person, who they say encouraged the shooter that injured five people at a party in Clearfield in March.

Clearfield crosswalks removed to ease traffic flow

CLEARFIELD -- Two crosswalks on State Street no longer exist, police said.

Clearfield Police Chief Greg Krusi said the crosswalks at 100 N. State St. and 442 S. State St. were taken out earlier this week. Pedestrians should cross State Street at the intersections.

CLEARFIELD — Police have arrested two people they say were involved in a March 17 shooting during a party at a Clearfield home.

CLEARFIELD — Police are asking anyone who may think they know something about a shooting that wounded four teenagers in March to call them.

“We’re still actively investigating the shooting,” said Assistant Police Chief Mike Stenquist.

The shooting happened about 12:30 a.m. March 17 at a party in the cul-de-sac of 150 N. 1200 West.

Police released a 911 call Tuesday that was made at the time of the shooting. A woman called dispatch reporting “that a bunch of kids are out in the cul-de-sac” and was actually on the phone when she heard gunshots, Stenquist said.

Clearfield plans annual cemetery cleanup

The city is gearing up for its annual cemetery clean up.

The parks and recreation department will host the cleanup at Clearfield Memorial Park, 1050 S. State St., April 4 from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Residents are asked to remove any gravesite decorations they wish to save before that date, because all remaining items will be discarded.

If the weather is not good on April 4, the plan is to move the date to April 11.

Public meeting today on Clearfield's Vision plan

CLEARFIELD -- Residents have a chance to give input on the city's Vision 2020 plan at a workshop scheduled for today.

The workshop will be from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Municipal Building, 55 S. State St. Light refreshments will be served.

Neighbors shocked after 4 teens shot at Clearfield party

CLEARFIELD — Jay Jones is still shocked that a shooting that left four teenagers wounded happened right behind his house. “This is a quiet neighborhood,” Jones said as he stood in his backyard, looking at the house to the west of his, where a party brought in police from several agencies early Saturday morning.

Clearfield police are still seeking information about the shooting, which happened at a party in the cul-de-sac of 150 N. 1200 West at 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

Four teens shot at Clearfield party

CLEARFIELD — Police are seeking information about a shooter, or shooters, at a party early Saturday morning in the vicinity of 150 N., 1200 W.

A blue 2000 Ford Focus was northbound on I-15 MP335, just north of SR 193 (700 South) in Clearfield. It was occupied by father and son, Jorge (age 63) and Cristopher Revilla (age 29) both from Ogden, Utah.
The driver of the Ford, Jorge, lost control on the snow packed roads and went into the median. The car submarined under the cable barrier and went into southbound traffic lanes. A red 2009 Volvo tractor/trailer, was southbound and the Ford slid into the Volvo. It was a t-bone collision on the passenger side of the Ford. Both occupants were killed instantly. Pair of Scouts honored by Clearfield

Two youth were recently honored for their dedication and efforts in achieving a much sought after honor.

Both Jake Lasater and Mark Hansen earned their Eagle Scout recently. The two were honored by the mayor during a regularly scheduled city council meeting for their achievements. Both are Clearfield residents.

Nancy Dean, Steve Guy to remain with city

CLEARFIELD -- Nancy Dean and Steve Guy are continuing in their positions for the city.

Per state law, the city council had to officially appoint a city recorder and treasurer before the first Monday in February following a municipal election. The city council recently reappointed Dean, the city treasurer, and Guy, the city recorder, in its last city council meeting. Both were already employed in those capacities for the city.

37 Clearfield homes to be sampled for water contamination

CLEARFIELD -- Groundwater contamination is not causing any problems for Clearfield residents, according to continuing studies being done by the base.

Shannon Smith, from the Hill Air Force Base environmental restoration directorate, updated the city council about the indoor sampling program and groundwater contamination recently during a regularly meeting.

Clearfield sets curfew for students

CLEARFIELD -- A new ordinance gives peace officers more power when dealing with youths who are cutting school.

Similar to efforts in neighboring cities, Clearfield has opted to add a new policy to the books. The city council has approved an ordinance establishing a daytime curfew that corresponds to school times.
