Muscular dystrophy fundraiser set for Saturday

CLINTON -- Firefighters will collect donations for the Muscular Dystrophy Association from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Lowe's, 1986 N. 2000 West.

Clinton firefighters and police officers will provide information on keeping children safe. There will be food, music, face painting, balloons, kids' I.D. kits, a fire truck and the D.A.R.E car.

CLINTON -- The Clinton Fire Department is awaiting the arrival of a new deputy chief response vehicle because the former vehicle was destroyed in a crash.

On Nov. 22, Deputy Dave Olsen was responding to an emergency call when he was hit at 1800 N. 2000 West by a driver who failed to yield to the flashing lights and blaring sirens.

Clinton fitness center helps firefighters keep in shape

CLINTON — To better meet the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) guidelines of physical health and wellness for Firefighters nationwide, the Clinton Fire Department is teaming up with Anytime Fitness.

The duties and equipment of firefighting make it imperative that the firemen are in the best physical shape possible.
