SR14 in Southern Utah to reopen in July

CEDAR CITY — State transportation officials say a state highway in Southern Utah closed by a massive landslide in October is scheduled to reopen with limited access June 1 and with full access by July 4.

Juvenile justice centers face cuts, closure because of lack of funding by Legislature

SALT LAKE CITY — Because of budget cuts, Weber County juveniles on the wrong side of the law may find themselves housed in facilities in Davis and Salt Lake counties.

Officials said legislators failed to approve adequate funding for juvenile justice centers, which could mean the closure of a number of facilities and cutbacks to services at other facilities, such as Ogden Youth Services & Receiving and the Weber Valley Detention Center in Roy.

Kaysville school closed today

KAYSVILLE — Morgan Elementary School in Kaysville will be closed today, Davis School District Communications Director Chris Williams said.

The school was still without power Sunday night as a result of the severe winds that hit the area Thursday.

Davis courthouse to be closed Thursday, Friday for Thanksgiving

FARMINGTON — The Davis County Memorial Courthouse will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The courthouse, at 28 E. State St. in downtown Farmington, will reopen to the public at 8 a.m. Monday.

UDOT to close two highways for winter

OGDEN — The Utah Department of Transportation announced Saturday that State Road 39, the Monte Cristo Highway, and State Road 65, the Big Mountain Highway, will close for the winter season Tuesday.

15 Utah postal outlets to be studied for closure

SALT LAKE CITY -- The U.S. Postal Service is studying 15 offices for possible closure as part of a national review of operations.
