Wildcats drop pair in California softball tournament

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- The Weber State University softball team dropped two games Friday during the opening day of the Amy S. Harrison Classic.

The Wildcats dropped a 10-1 decision in five innings to Boise State in the tournament’s opening game, and then loss a tough 2-0 setback against San Diego in the early afternoon.

Wildcats regroup, prepare for second softball tournament of young '13 season

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – After having a weekend off, the Weber State University women’s softball team resumes its 2013 season this weekend when the Wildcats head to the Amy S. Harrison Classic, hosted by the University of California at Riverside.

Weber State (0-5) will face four games during the three-day tournament, beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday against Boise State. The Wildcats will face San Diego at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, and then will take on the host Highlanders at 3 p.m. on Saturday, before wrapping up the tournament with a second meeting with UC Riverside at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday.

OGDEN – The Weber State University softball team announced Monday the signing of seven players to national letters of intent for the 2013-14 season.

The Wildcats’ signing class includes six high school players and one junior college transfer.

WSU softball player doesn't let MS tag her out

OGDEN — When Kami Johnson-Holley was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2007 as a Fremont High School senior, she was told that staying active would help her deal with the disease.

The star basketball and softball player took the advice to heart, first by winning a scholarship to play basketball at Western Wyoming Community College for two years and now by completing her second year as a utility player for Weber State University’s softball team.
