North Ogden garden boxes now available

NORTH OGDEN -- The city is doubling the size of its community garden, thanks to a RAMP grant.

Applications are now being taken to fill the space.

The cost is $25 for a garden spot. To reserve an available spot or to find more information, contact Lorrie Frazier at 801-737-0587 or visit the community services offices at 2705 N. 550 East.

Syracuse community garden program starts

Garden plots for local residents will be offered again this year through the city’s community gardening program.

The 400 square foot lots will be available at Legacy Park at 2300 South and 1000 West.

The cost is $15 for one plot and $25 for two and space is limited. For more details contact the Parks Department at 8091-825-7235.

City may OK medical marijuana 'community gardens'

PULLMAN, Wash. -- The Pullman City Council will discuss medical marijuana and the possible regulation of newly approved "community gardens" at its regular meeting Tuesday.

The discussion is prompted by recent changes in state law, which took effect July 22. The law now allows up to 10 patients to join together and raise "community gardens" for the purpose of supplying themselves with medical marijuana.

Utah community food co-op adds sites in Ogden, Farr West

SALT LAKE CITY - The Community Food Co-op, a Utah non-profit agency, has added four new team distribution sites in Utah. The new sites will give residents in the Grantsville, Glendale, Ogden and Farr West areas convenient locations where they can pick up their monthly co-op orders.

The four volunteer-led team sites bring the total number of distribution sites to 53. Sites in Utah range from Springville to Farr West and from Grantsville to Heber. A complete list can be found at https://foodco-op.net/distribution--site/list.

NORTH OGDEN -- Parks and playgrounds were filled with kids Friday afternoon, but they weren't swinging on swings or kicking soccer balls -- they were hard at work.

North Ogden community garden town meeting set

NORTH OGDEN — A town meeting will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the North Ogden Community Services Building, 2750 N. 550 East, regarding the North Ogden Community Garden.

The garden’s grand opening is set for 10 a.m. May 7.

City again offers community gardens

Garden plots for residents will be offered again through the city’s community gardening program. The city will provide garden plots at Legacy Park at 2356 South and 1000 West.

Participants may apply at the City Community Development Department for 20’ x 20’ plots for $15 for $25 for the maximum of two plots per household, per year.

Water will be available for irrigation.
