ANTELOPE ISLAND — Live music has officially been added to the list of reasons to visit Antelope Island State Park this summer.

Antelope Island summer concerts low-cost

FARMINGTON -- With a $1,000 payout ceiling for acts, it is unlikely, regardless of how popular The Beach Boys are with Davis County officials, that the group will perform at Antelope Island during the state park's proposed 2012 inaugural summer concert series.

Ringtone halts NY Philharmonic performance

NEW YORK -- It's the dreaded sound at any live performance -- a ringing cellphone.

That's what happened Tuesday night at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall during the final movement of Gustav Mahler's Ninth Symphony by the New York Philharmonic. Maestro Alan Gilbert stopped the orchestra until the phone was silenced.

Conductor, audience not making such beautiful music

Michael Palumbo's deep, dark secret is finally out.

Apparently, the Weber State University music professor hates handicapped people. And small children. Oh, and puppies and kitties and bunnies. And maybe even a rainbow or sunset or two.

LAYTON -- Kenny Loggins can add another achievement to his resume. The singer/songwriter was the first performer in the Davis Arts Council's Summer Nights With the Stars to play in front of a sold-out Kenley Centennial Amphitheater.

Loggins wrapped up the 2011 series in September with the DAC's biggest show since the summer concert series began in 1995.

DAC officials say Loggins' show for a crowd of 1,800 put an exclamation point on an exciting summer.
