Davis School Board OKs two SLC architecture firms for elementary schools' work

FARMINGTON — The Davis School Board recently approved two Salt Lake City architecture firms, out of 24 firms statewide that applied, for the proposed remodels of two elementary schools.

GSBS Architects was selected for the new design for Sunset Elementary, and FFKR Architects was selected to do the design for Syracuse Elementary.

GSBS Architects did the design for Davis County Convention Center in Layton, said Dr. Paul Waite, assistant superintendent. FFKR Architects did the design for the Joseph Smith Memorial Building.

Both schools need more space to accommodate the growing student population, Waite said.

Syracuse Elementary needs a larger lunchroom and activity center, as well as a new media center and computer lab.

Sunset Elementary needs a new activity center, media center, classrooms and administrative offices.
