SALT LAKE CITY -- The Utah Symphony and Utah Opera will treat the public to a free concert to showcase the newly renovated Gallivan Center plaza in downtown Salt Lake City.
The performance is set for 7 p.m. Thursday.
The concert will feature the orchestra, led by Associate Conductor David Cho. It also will feature guest artists Melinda Ammons, Darrell Babidge, Millinee Bannister, Christopher Holmes, Isaac Hurtado, Chad Millar and nationally renowned soprano Jennifer Welch-Babidge.
A variety of orchestral and operatic highlights are scheduled to be performed, including selections from popular operas such as "Die Fledermaus," ''La Boheme," ''The Marriage of Figaro," ''Carmen" and "The Barber of Seville."
