Official: No threat from Pineview

WEST WEBER -- Lance Peterson wants residents to know that Pineview Reservoir is not endangering their property.

Peterson, Weber County's emergency services director, got multiple phone calls Thursday from concerned county residents who heard in a television report that the reservoir is taking in 3,200 cubic feet of water per second and only putting out half as much.

"That was totally erroneous," Peterson said. The reservoir is only taking in 960 CFS and 1,600 CFS is flowing out, he said.

For up-to-date river and reservoir information, Peterson recommended visiting www.cbrfc.noaa.gov.
