PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- A federal magistrate judge has ordered two men charged in one of Rhode Island's largest-ever drug busts held pending a bail hearing.
Armando Saucedo, of Hacienda Heights, Calif., and Andrew Rios, of Downey, Calif., were ordered held Friday in the nearly $8 million bust after the judge entered a not guilty plea on their behalf.
Also Friday, a court filing reviewed by The Associated Press shows a third man charged in the bust, Adilson Antonio Reyes, admitted when he was arrested in January to driving large shipments of cocaine from California to Rhode Island. Reyes, of South Ogden, Utah, was ordered held on Thursday. A not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.
Authorities have linked the men to an unspecified Mexican cartel. The men's lawyers have declined to comment.
