FARMINGTON -- A Layton sex offender who admitted to additional sexual activity while on probation pleaded guilty to an amended charge on Monday.
Salvador Molinar Spinuzza Jr., 38, appeared in 2nd District Court in Farmington and pleaded guilty to an amended charge of attempted aggravated sexual assault of a child, a first-degree felony.
In October, Spinuzza pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated sex abuse of a child, stemming from an arrest during the same month, after he admitted to his probation officer about additional sexual activity with a child.
The Davis County Attorney's Office originally filed two counts of first-degree felony aggravated sexual abuse of a child against Spinuzza in 2nd District Court on May 19, 2006.
In January 2007, Spinuzza pleaded guilty to two reduced charges of second-degree felony sexual abuse of a child, according to court documents.
In March 2007, 2nd District Court Judge Jon M. Memmott sentenced Spinuzza to serve one year in Davis County Jail and three years probation on both counts.
He suspended two sentences of one to 15 years in Utah State Prison in lieu of jail and probation.
The latest charges happened about the same time as the original charges.
There are two children, members of the same family, involved in all four cases, which is why police filed the aggravated charges.
Spinuzza will appear in 2nd District court Feb. 22 for sentencing.
