Ogden woman reports home invasion robbery

OGDEN -- Two men forced their way into an Ogden home on Monday night and took a 52-inch television at gunpoint, police say.

A 25-year-old female resident and at least one child were watching television when the men entered through the front door.

Police say drug activity is suspected at the home. The victim told officers that she recognized one of the two assailants because he was there over the weekend smoking meth in her bathroom, said Lt. Scott Sangberg.

The men burst into the home around 9:50 p.m. and demanded the television. The woman told officers that one of the men had a semi-automatic handgun and that they took her cell phone, then carried the television out to a red Subaru.

The victim ran to a neighbor's home to call 911 when the men were distracted.

She told police that the pair were unable to load the television into the rear passenger seat of the vehicle, so they had to shove it into the trunk. They drove off before officers arrived.

The home, located on the 1200 block of 35th Street, was also targeted in a burglary last November. In that case, the same resident told police someone broke in and stole an Xbox video gaming system when she was not home.
