WASHINGTON — Jeanette Barraza-Galindo conspicuously left her bags of teddy bears and throw pillows on a bus during an inspection at the Texas-Mexico border — and professed ignorance about the $277,556 officers found hidden inside. The bags were handed to her at a bus station, gifts to be given to a child upon her return to Mexico, she told investigators.

SOUTH OGDEN -- The South Ogden Police Department is holding an informational session about sex offenders on March 1.

OGDEN -- Prosecutors have requested a gag order be issued in the case of Matthew David Stewart, who faces the death penalty over a Jan. 4 shootout with police.

ROY — The woman who owns the house where a body was found Thursday has been booked in Weber County Jail.

Sarah Nichole Munn, 31, of Roy, faces one count of second-degree felony obstructing justice and is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Weber County Attorney Dee Smith said his office is reviewing the case before filing formal charges in 2nd District Court in Ogden.

SYRACUSE — Jay Wilson, 66, has a warrant out for his arrest for sexually abusing and groping a woman.

He was charged with forcible sodomy, forcible sexual abuse and sexual battery in 2nd District Court on Thursday. A warrant for Wilson’s arrest was filed the same day.
