All-ages bike races, lunch Saturday

ROY -- A bike race through Weber and Davis counties for all ages, featuring a variety of route distances, will be at 7 a.m. Saturday, with proceeds going to Huntsman Cancer Institute and Roy High School Athletics.

The first "The Racer Century" ride will begin and end at Roy High School, 2150 W. 4800 South.

The event features route distances of 2 miles to 102 miles, said Tim Bell, race director.

The adult entry fee is $55 for routes 75 miles or greater, and $40 for routes 34 miles or 50 miles long. The Kid's Fun Ride is $20. So far, 78 riders have preregistered for the event, Bell said.

The event will offer tandem, youth and family discounts.

Registration and check-in begins at 5 a.m. A barbecue lunch will follow the ride. The cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children and seniors.
