FARMINGTON -- Davis County continues to upgrade its flood control channels.
On June 7, the commission received six bids for a 200 South storm drain channel liner that is to be constructed along a stretch of channel through West Point.
The lowest bid was $239,522, submitted by Bowen Construction of Centerville, county officials said. The next closest bid, $248,471, was submitted by VanCon Inc. of Springville.
The commission is expected to award the contract at its June 14 meeting.
The county engineer's estimate for the project was $250,000, officials said.
The project is part of a $27 million upgrade of the county's storm drain system and flood control channels that is to continue through 2012, officials said.
