Pete "Patch" Johansen died Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 14, or at noon on Thursday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 3329 Harrison Blvd., in Ogden. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 15, at the church. Interment will be at Brigham City Cemetery under the direction of Lindquist Mortuary. Memorial donations may be made at America First Credit Union under Indra L. Johansen's name.

A Pierce County sheriff's deputy and Graham firefighters work around the smoldering remains of a house near Fredrickson, Wash., on Sunday. A sheriff's spokesman says three bodies were were found in the home. The bodies are believed to be Josh Powell and his two young sons. The explosion occurred moments after a Child Protective Services worker brought the two boys to the home for a supervised visit.
