Top of Utah residents are among those mourning the loss of Frances B. Monson, the wife of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints President Thomas S. Monson.

Frances Monson, 85, died surrounded by family at 6:35 a.m. Friday in a Salt Lake City hospital. The cause of death was not immediately disclosed.

Many of those interviewed said they appreciated her example over the years and expressed concern for their church prophet recovering from the loss.

“She has been a wonderful example to all women,” said Ogden resident LaRue Beardall, who in the past has served as a Northern Utah public relations representative for the church. “She was a great example of support to her husband, going with him everywhere, supporting him whatever he was doing for a very long time.”

Theron Claire Huggins died Thursday, May 16, 2013. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, at the Bear River LDS Church, 5870 N. 4700 West, Bear River City.
