Puppy on runway delays flights

NEW YORK -- A puppy named Byrdie delayed several flights at New York's LaGuardia Airport when she escaped from her crate and frolicked around a busy runway.

Ex-animal control officer in Cache sentenced in dog's death

LOGAN -- An ex-Smithfield animal control officer is being ordered to reading a book on animal cruelty following the death of a yellow Lab he said he accidentally left in an outdoor kennel.

Matt Townsend, of Ogden, holds a Shih Tzu he adopted at the Weber County Animal Shelter on Thursday. The dog, which he and his wife, Joanne, have named Buster, was recently found abandoned ainside a foreclosed home in North Ogden. The dog received donated grooming services from The Little Dog House to clean it up. OGDEN — Sometimes one happy ending can resolve two sad stories at once. That was the case Thursday when Matt and Joanne Townsend adopted a 2-year-old Shih Tzu they named Buster.

Dog causes crash that shuts down freeway
