WICHITA FALLS, Texas — Bruce Martin was watching movies in the middle of the night when he suffered a massive heart attack. His dog Clyde nudged him and, getting no response, trotted into the bedroom to awaken Bruce’s wife,Mitch.

The Martins believe that Clyde, a 5-year-old pit bull/golden retriever mix, saved Bruce’s life.

Man refutes Ogden police claims in fatal shooting of German shepherd

OGDEN — A pet owner and Ogden police are at odds over details in Sunday’s fatal shooting of a dog by a law officer.

Dan Marocchi said his 2-year-old German shepherd, named Max, never attacked the officer and didn’t deserve to die.

“The Ogden Police Department is trying to cover up a bad shooting,” he said Monday.

Beagle's nose knows where bedbugs are in Top of Utah

OGDEN — Bedbugs do bite.

Because of that, Hunter, a uniquely trained 2-year-old bedbug-sniffing beagle, is finding steady work in the Top of Utah.

No one would know it at a glance — the truck Hunter rides in to appointments has no markings to indicate the dog is a bedbug hunter. But the 20-pound pooch is not an exterminator.

They landed in jail in time for the holidays, with Sorensen arrested three times in a two-day period.

SPANISH FORK — When Sawyer Hamilton gets off the bus on a Friday afternoon in November, he makes a beeline for his dog, Topper, waiting patiently on the sidewalk. Dropping his backpack to the ground, he excitedly calls Topper’s name over and over, bends down to pet his companion and receives ample licks to the face in return.

Ogden man raising funds to pay for surgery after dog breaks 1 of its 3 legs

OGDEN — Marc Payet could only hope for a medical and financial miracle as he walked his beloved dogs, pulling Willie in a wagon as Shorti trotted along to the side.

Willie, a three-legged German shepherd mix, had recently broken his right front leg, the only leg on that side of his body.

The day before Thanksgiving, Willie received a complex surgery from orthopedic veterinarian Dale Smith, of Salt Lake City. Now Payet, a devoted dog-lover, is hoping to raise funds to pay back the doctor.

Our friends at Four Paws Rescue are asking for donations for a little Chihuahua that was horribly abused. This little girl was thrown into a campfire, almost half of her body has been badly burned not to mention that she has other issues such as her teeth being knocked out. This took place at the North Fork campground up Ogden Canyon.
