North Davis Fire District receives $8,000 donation

CLEARFIELD -- North Davis Fire District plans to use an $8,000 donation to buy auto defibrillators for three of its first-responder engines.

The donation was made by SMI Moulding Inc. on Tuesday, said Deputy Fire Chief Mark Becraft.

Company President Terry Greenman recently contacted the fire agency asking if it needed any equipment.

Becraft said he told Greenman the fire district was writing a grant in hopes of getting the auto defibrillators.

The agency has the auto defibrillators in each of its ambulances, but wanted to have one in three engines.

Becraft said he plans to order the defibrillators after Thanksgiving and hopes to have them in the engines by the first week of December.
