OGDEN — Three men were arrested early Saturday after neighbors complained of a loud party and officers found marijuana plants in an apartment bedroom, police say.
Officers did a room-to-room search of the apartment to check the identification of people at the party, many of whom were drinking and were not of legal age to do so, said Police Lt. Scott Sangberg.
When officers entered a bedroom, Marty Clark Connors, 24, who lives in the apartment, tried to pull a rifle out of a closet before he was disarmed and handcuffed, Sangberg said.
Police were unsure what he was attempting to do with the firearm.
Two roommates, Devin Richard Pennock and Jamison Charles Duffy, both 19, also were arrested after officers discovered marijuana plants growing behind a sheet in one of the bedrooms.
Sangberg said several plants were being cultivated in the apartment and it is believed the marijuana was being grown for both personal use and to sell. Officers also found a bong, heat lamps, plant food and fertilizer in the room as well.
Police cited nine people at the party for underage drinking.
“One mother apparently brought her underage daughter there to drink,†said Sangberg, who added that police found underage drinkers
in every room of the apartment.
