Trece member charged in South Ogden incidences

SOUTH OGDEN -- Charges have been filed against a 28-year-old man who police say attempted to steal a car and shot a woman on Highway 89 on Saturday.

Henry Sosa, 28, was booked into Weber County Jail with charges of aggravated robbery, attempted homicide, possession of meth with intent to distribute in a drug-free zone, and two charges of possession of firearms by a restricted person.

Sosa, a Trece gang member, attempted to steal a car from a 63-year-old man leaving his apartment on the 4500 South block of 475 West at 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

The man refused to give the car to Sosa, but instead said he would give him a ride. The driver dropped Sosa off around 29th and Adams.

Earlier that day, police believe Sosa was the driver who pulled up alongside two women in a vehicle near 1050 East, shouted something and fired three shots at the car.

One bullet grazed the driver's chin. She was treated at a local hospital and released.

Sosa was arrested about 5:30 p.m. Saturday by officers. Police said tips received about the shooting led them to the location were Sosa was arrested without incident.

Police found two pistols on Sosa when he was arrested, one in a shoulder holster and one in his waistband.
