Public invited to ‘Dialogue on Race’ series

SALT LAKE CITY — The community is invited to attend the Dialogue on Race Series at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Salt Lake City School District Main Office, 440 E. 100 South.
The purpose of these dialogues is to encourage community involvement, educate and inform the development of public policy in city government. The next event will be Dec. 7, with additional dialogues held in January through March 2011.

The guest speaker of the first series will be Curtis Linton, co-author of “Courageous Conversations About Race.” Linton has spent the last decade documenting the improvement efforts and best practices of the most successful schools and school systems.

The series is sponsored by the Salt Lake City Human Rights Commission and Salt Lake County Mayor’s Office of Diversity and Human Rights.
