The Council on International Educational Exchange, a nonprofit organization providing opportunities to broaden cultural horizons in our communities, is looking for host families.
According to a news release, CIEE is currently accepting applications for host families in the Top of Utah, and students are excited to meet their new families and start the school year in August.
People host for many reasons, including learning about another culture, volunteer hours for themselves and their children, and future travel connections. Hosts can also receive a tax deduction while the student is in the host home.
International students participating in the exchange are between 15 and 18 years of age, have studied English for a minimum of three years, have their own medical insurance and spending money and have undergone a thorough personal screening and interview process, the news release states. Once here, cultural immersion allows students to gain a personal understanding of the "American way of life."
