OWATC receives $2,500 grant for camp

OGDEN — Ogden-Weber Applied Technical College has won a National Manufacturing Camp grant.

The $2,500 grant is one of nine awarded nationally and goes to community and technical colleges that offer day camp experiences that introduce youths ages 12 to 18 to careers in manufacturing and engineering.

“Creating a skilled work force in the trades is vital to the future of America, and it all starts with introducing young people to the career potential in this sector and providing an engaging hands-on experience,” grant board spokeswoman Traci Tapani said in a statement.

The OWATC manufacturing camp for ages 16-18 will be July 11-15. For information, visit www.nutsandboltsfoundation.org/camplist.
