Ogden schools recognized for food donations

OGDEN -- Participating Ogden School District schools donated more than 3,000 pounds of food to a local food bank in February.

Polk Elementary School earned top honors, donating 886 pounds of food to the Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank through Catholic Community Services.

The Ogden School Foundation will give the Joyce Hansen Hall Food Bank a $500 donation in the name of Polk Elementary.

Other schools that donated food are Odyssey Elementary, 447 pounds; Gramercy Elementary, 390 pounds; Shadow Valley Elementary, 329.5 pounds; Taylor Canyon Elementary, 324 pounds; Ben Lomond High, 322 pounds; Heritage Elementary, 300 pounds; and Highland Junior High, 245 pounds.

The Ogden district office donated 195.5 pounds. The total was 3,439 pounds of food.
