FARMINGTON -- The Davis School District Special Education Department is seeking parents of students with disabilities to participate in a focus group as part of the Utah Program Improvement Process.
The focus group effort is part of a continuous improvement-monitoring process conducted by the state Office of Education Special Education Services. It is required by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act.
The process is designed to focus resources on improving results for students with disabilities through enhanced partnerships between school and district programs, USOE-SES, the Utah Personnel Development Center, parents and advocates. Fifteen district schools will be participating. USOE will conduct the review April 26-28.
The parent focus group meeting, sponsored by the Utah Parent Center, will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. April 26, at the Vista Center, 97 S. 200 East, Farmington. Participating parents must have a student with a disability, who has an individual education plan and receives special education services.
