Hooper couple meets special needs of 6 adopted children

HOOPER -- Raising a child with disabilities is a challenge to any parents. Adopting children with disabilities is another matter altogether, but one couple knew it was something they were just meant to do.

Steve and Anita Ure had talked about adopting children even before they were married. They had seen children being airlifted out of Vietnam in the 1970s and vowed to someday adopt.

Fundraiser planned for Enable Utah

“Duck in for Laughs,” a comedy fundraiser for Enable Utah, is scheduled for Oct. 13 and is looking for sponsorships.

The event will feature routines by comedian Keith Stubbs and Friends to raise money to help people with disabilities. Participants also will enjoy a lunch prepared by Ogden chefs. Presentations will be held from 11 a.m. to noon and 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Ogden Marriott Hotel, 247 24th St.
