City lighting to be energy-efficient

CLEARFIELD -- The city is moving forward with lighting projects that are meant to be more energy-efficient.

With funds from the federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the city is upgrading energy systems in some of its existing buildings.

Positive Power is the contractor working with the city on the lighting upgrades.

Work not included in the initial contract was found to be necessary. The city recently approved two change orders allowing the extra work to be done. The amount is $1,380 on the first order and $1,262 on the second.

Work involves such items as changing some orders for work in the Community Center. This includes adding extra ballasts, adding dual switching capabilities, and even adding extra recessed lighting and lamps in certain areas.
