Public invited to Arbor Day event

Apr 24 2011 - 10:51pm

CLEARFIELD -- The city is planning a day to help people celebrate trees.

Clearfield is encouraging people to bring their preschool-age children to the city's annual Arbor Day Trees and Tots Activity, held in conjunction with the Davis County Library North Branch in Clearfield.

A special tree-themed story time will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Fox Hollow Park and Arboretum, 2050 S. 575 East, Clearfield, after which the tots can join Clearfield city's arborist, Steve Thomas, in planting a tree or two.

Refreshments will be provided, as well as toy buckets and shovels for the kids to use and take home.

Fox Hollow Park and Arboretum can be reached via 1700 South (Antelope) and turning south at 575 East. The park is about a half-mile down on the right. This activity is free to the public.

If more information is needed, call Clearfield Community Services at 801-525-2790.
