FRANKFURT, Germany -- He is not riding off into the sunset. Hiroshi Hoketsu is simply riding, and that's just how he likes it.

Hoketsu first went to the Olympics in 1964 when he was 23 and the games were in his native Tokyo. Now nearly 71, Hoketsu will be going to the Olympics again -- not to watch, but to compete.

FARMINGTON -- With Davis County home construction putting the squeeze on open pasture lands where horses once grazed -- forcing some horse owners to relocate -- Davis County Legacy Events Center is diversifying the groups it attracts.

Being able to rely on renting out Legacy Events Center's indoor and outdoor arenas to horse riders to supplement the operating cost of the buildings is no longer feasible, officials say.

National Horse Show moving to Kentucky from New York

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The National Horse Show is moving from New York to Kentucky later this year, according to organizers.

Mason Phelps, the show's president and CEO, told the Lexington Herald-Leader that a contract with the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington should be signed in the next few weeks.

Horse Park Director John Nicholson said the show will be held at the Alltech Arena, the park's new $40 million indoor complex. Nicholson says the move confirmed that Kentucky is a center for sport horses and helps justify the millions of dollars spent to upgrade the park before the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games last fall.
