Give thanks at Interfaith celebration

OGDEN -- The public is invited to a free Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration at 6 p.m. Nov. 22, at Your Community Connection, 2261 Adams Ave.

The event, which features presentations by those from a dozen different faith groups, is centered on the theme "Traditions of Gratitude."

Organizer Nancy Nightingale, an interfaith minister, said the evening will begin with a presentation by a Piute spiritual leader.

"He does a wonderful job setting the tone for the evening," she said.

Those from a wide variety of other faiths will follow, expressing gratitude in many varied ways.

A special treat, she said, will be desserts furnished by the American Mothers of Utah.

"Because of them, we get to have the refreshments and we get to have that casual atmosphere," she said. "It will be like being in someone's living room for Thanksgiving."

Nightingale said the large fireplace in the gathering place at YCC also will add greatly to the homey atmosphere of the evening.
