Today

-- Palm Sunday Mass in English at 5 p.m. at the Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, located at 210 Chapel St. in Layton.

-- All-ages Easter Egg hunt at 1 p.m. at Light of the Valley Lutheran Church, located at 1074 N. Fairfield Road, Layton. Kids will hear the story of Easter, enjoy some refreshments, meet the Easter bunny and then hunt for Easter eggs.

-- Emmanuel Church of God In Christ is having its second annual "Praises Go Up Blessings Come Down" musical. This will be an evening of music and praise. Barbeque dinners will be sold all that day starting at 11 a.m., and during and after the musical. 2778 Wall Ave., Ogden (801) 393-9865.

-- Palm Sunday Mass at the Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, located at 210 Chapel St. in Layton. English version at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., and Spanish at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m.

-- Palm Sunday, 10:30 a.m. service at Congregational, United Church of Christ, 3350 Harrison Blvd., Ogden. Procession of Palms, then presentation of Reader's Theater version of "The Other Wise Man," directed by Nell Heller and Susan Smith with two dozen church members, youth and friends performing.

-- Palm Sunday and New Zion's 84th church anniversary at 3:30 p.m. at 2935 Lincoln Ave., Ogden. Speaker will be Bishop Bobby Allen, senior pastor of Griffin Memorial Church of God in Christ, Ogden. The theme will be "A Church Being Equipped to Do God's Work and Increase His Kingdom" (Colossians 2:6-7 & 2 Timothy 3:17). (801) 392-2211.

-- Palm Sunday at 10 a.m. at Elim Evangelical Lutheran Church, 575 23rd St., Ogden. There will be a procession with the processional cross, candles, Bible, banners and palms. The congregation will present a reader's theatre play, "The Passion of our Lord According to Luke."

-- Palm Sunday service at 10:30 a.m. at Light of the Valley Lutheran Church, located at 1074 N. Fairfield Road, Layton.

Thursday

-- Holy Thursday at Congregational, United Church of Christ, at 6 pm. Potluck supper and Maundy Thursday worship service at the church cottage behind the sanctuary, Congregational, United Church of Christ, 3350 Harrison Blvd., Ogden.

-- Holy Thursday at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, located at 210 Chapel St. in Layton. Mass of the Lord's Supper at 7 p.m.

-- Maundy Thursday Tenebrae Service at 7 p.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 796 S. Mountain Road, Fruit Heights.

-- Maundy Thursday worship service with foot washing at 7 p.m. at Elim Evangelical Lutheran Church, 575 23rd St., Ogden.

-- Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Clearfield Community Church, 200 S. 500 East.

-- "The Lamb Has Overcome," an Easter musical/drama presented at 7:30 p.m. by Canyon Road Assembly Of God, 1390 Canyon Road, Ogden. The drama presents the powerful message of Jesus' death on the cross, and that through his death and resurrection we have power to live a victorious life today. The musical contains contemporary songs, hymns, and testimonies of God's deliverance. The public is invited to attend. Childcare will be provided for infants and children up to age 5. -- Holy Saturday Easter vigil at 8:30 p.m. at the Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, located at 210 Chapel St. in Layton. The vigil lasts two and a half hours; parents may not wish to bring small children.

-- Easter Prayer Vigil from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Elim Evangelical Lutheran Church, 575 23rd St., Ogden.

-- Easter egg hunt at 10:30 a.m. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 796 S. Mountain Road, Fruit Heights.

-- Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. at Chapel Street Park in Layton, hosted by the Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

 

Sunday, April 4

-- Easter Sunday, 8 a.m. sunrise service at Beus Pond, 4240 Country Hills Drive in Ogden, followed by breakfast, then the 10:30 a.m. Easter worship in the sanctuary of the Congregational, United Church of Christ, 3350 Harrison Blvd., Ogden. Public welcome. (801) 392-5012.

-- Easter breakfast served by Elim's Youth Group from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. at Elim Evangelical Lutheran Church, 575 23rd St., Ogden. The menu includes pancakes, French toast and egg bakes, with suggested donation of $7 per adult and $5 per child. Children under 5 and those who cannot afford a donation may eat free. The Easter Festive Worship service will take place at 10 a.m. Tenor Rick Givens will sing "Jesus, Messiah," as special music.

-- Easter Sunday at Clearfield Community Church, 200 S. 500 East. Son-Rise worship at the Aquatic Center Park in Clearfield at 6:30 a.m., followed by breakfast at the Clearfield Community Church Fellowship Hall at 8:30 a.m. Worship/Sunday School will be held at 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

--  Easter morning at Light of the Valley Lutheran Church, located at 1074 N. Fairfield Road, Layton. Easter breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m., followed by Easter Festival Service at 10:30 a.m.
